Your address is in a medium risk area

The following restrictions are in place:

• stick to the rule of six. That means you should only mix socially with up to five other people, including children, indoors and outdoors. Meeting in larger groups is against the law but there are exceptions such as in schools, universities and other forms of childcare
• family and friends can continue to provide informal childcare but in groups of no more than six people. Similar arrangements are allowed for the care of vulnerable adults
• wedding and civil partnership ceremonies can take place with up to 15 people attending.
• up to 30 people can attend a funeral. Wakes are limited to 15 people and should be in the form of a sit-down meal in a Covid-19 secure venue, not in a person's home
• support groups such as group counselling sessions can meet with up to 15 people
• you can take part in sport outdoors. Sport and exercise classes indoors are only permitted if it is possible for people to avoid mixing in a group of more than six. There are exceptions for children and people with a disability
• rule of six applies to indoor hospitality such as pubs, restaurants and hotels, leisure venues and shops
• pubs, bars restaurants and other hospitality venues close at 10pm. Drive-through services, click and collect and delivery services can continue after 10pm
• all businesses, leisure facilities and other places which are allowed to open by law can remain open providing they meet Covid-19 secure guidance
• face coverings must be worn and screens in place for all staff working in the indoor hospitality industry including, pubs, restaurants and hotels. Customers must also wear a face covering apart from when seated
• food and drink venues will be table service only except in theatres, concert halls and cinemas
• work from home if possible
• test and trace data should continue to be collected in venues including pubs, restaurants, cafes, hotels and hairdressers and also cinemas, theatres and concert halls.

Your address is in a high risk area

The following restrictions are in place:

• people in your household or support bubble should not mix with people from outside your households or support bubble indoors – in your home, someone else’s home, pubs, restaurants, hotels or other hospitality venues, leisure venues or shops. Meeting in larger groups is against the law but there are exceptions such as in schools, universities and other forms of childcare
• family and friends can provide informal childcare as part of a childcare bubble. The bubble is limited to two households only so that informal childcare is provided by the same carers each time
• outdoors you should stick to the rule of six by limiting social gatherings outside to no more than six people, including children. This applies anywhere outdoors including in your own garden. Remember to keep at least two metres from anyone not in your household or support bubble
• travel to hotels and other guest accommodation in high alert areas or for holidays outside the area is allowed, but you should only do this with people in your household or support bubble
• university students must not move backward and forward between their permanent home and student home during term time – subject to limited exemptions set out in law. Students living at their student home in a high alert level area should follow the same guidance on meeting other people and travel as others in that area. Students that commute to university from their permanent home can continue to do so
• only visit care homes in exceptional circumstances
• you can attend a place of worship indoors but only with people you live with or in your support bubble. Outdoor gatherings should stick to the rule of six
• you can take part in sport and physical activity outdoors but organised indoor exercise classes are only permitted if it's possible to avoid mixing with people you don’t live with or share a support bubble with. There are exceptions for children and people with a disability
• wedding and civil partnership ceremonies including receptions can take place with up to 15 people

The following restrictions are in place:

• people in your household or support bubble should not mix with people from outside your household or support bubble either indoors, in private gardens or in most outdoor public venues. Meeting in larger groups is against the law but there are exceptions such as in schools, universities and other forms of childcare
• aim to reduce the number of journeys you make and do not travel into or out of the area unless it’s for work, education, to access youth services or because of caring responsibilities. You can travel through a very high risk area in order to travel between two lower risk areas
• avoid staying overnight in another part of the UK if you live in a very high risk area and avoid staying overnight in a very high alert level area if you live elsewhere. Exceptions are for work, education or caring responsibilities
• pubs and bars must close and can only remain open where they operate as if they were a restaurant - which means serving substantial meals, like a main lunchtime or evening meal. They may only serve alcohol as part of such a meal. You may only visit these venues with people in your household or support bubble. Additional restrictions may apply
• face coverings must be worn and screens in place for all staff working in these venues operating as restaurants and customers must also wear a face covering apart from when seated
• you can attend a place of worship indoors but only with people you live with or in your support bubble
• wedding and civil partnership ceremonies can take place with up to 15 people but receptions are not permitted
