About Job Done Home & Garden Maintenance
My name is James Curson, I established Job Done Home & Garden in 2015 to provide high quality handyman services to the residents and businesses of the Derbyshire Dales. Prior to this, I worked as a Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer for over 20 years, trained to the highest of standards by a blue chip manufacturing company. I have also spent a couple of years as a property developer, fully refurbishing old, tired properties, completing most of the work myself to a high standard. I am available for all aspects of home and garden maintenance. From a dripping tap to a full house renovation. I can be relied upon to work in a clean and courteous way. Customer satisfaction is hugely important to me. All my work is completed to the highest of standards, I am not happy to produce shoddy work and I have a great sense of pride when doing a good job & leaving my customers happy & impressed with my work ethic. I work on a fair pricing structure, I charge by the hour, which is the fairest way to ensure that both large and small projects are fairly priced. I will produce an estimation for you based on the number of hours I anticipate the job to take, If it is less, you'll pay less. If the work is taking longer, this will be discussed with you as we go along. I make every effort to produce a realistic estimation which meets your requirements in terms of materials and finishes required.

James did a great job fixing our kitchen cupboards and drawers. Kept us informed, checked if we wanted particular things done when he was here. Turned up when he said he would, did the job, tidied up afterwards. Would recommend and definitely use again.
As we advanced in years we are unable to do some jobs ourselves. Our greenhouse kit had been in the garage for 18 months, James came and constructed it in 2 days! He was very friendly. He worked with great care, attention to detail and even took some of it apart when it wasn't quite right. He removed all rubbish and left everything clean and tidy. Would recommend him to anyone looking for help with home and garden maintenance.
I contacted James as I needed somebody to investigate why the floor in my spare WC was starting to sag underfoot. Upon removing the carpet tiles, quarry tiles and floor boarding, he found that a mains pipe had been leaking slowly for some time and had rotted away the wooden beams that supported the floor. It had also spread under the wall into the adjoining bedroom. He quickly repaired the leak and cut out all the rotten timbers. He then returned a few weeks later once everything had dried out and completed the work to reconstruct the beams and replace the floor boarding, floor tiles and carpet tiles, as well as refitting the pedestal sink. It was a difficult job but James was not phased by it at all, and he possessed all the necessary skills to complete all aspects of the repair work, ie plumbing, joinery and tiling, etc. This meant there was no need to bring in any other contractors. James did a great job and I found him to be very hard working, friendly and easy to get along with. He involved me in any decisions and was totally transparent when it came to costs.
James did an excellent job - he is reliable and pays great attention to detail. He can turn his hand to most practical issues and he is highly recommended.

James Curson erected a fence in my back garden. He, together with his son Tom and a friend, Matt, made an extremely good job, working in very unpleasant, wet conditions. All rubbish was taken away and everything left tidy. The price charged was very reasonable and they were nice people to have around. I shall ask James to do further work for me when the occasion arises and would recommend him to other people.
James responded very quickly and I was immediately impressed with him. He did an excellent job fitting a new tap, moving a pipe and re-sealing our shower. I found James to be very friendly and approachable and will definitely be using his services again. Highly recommended.

James has worked on several projects for us. We have found him professional, knowledgeable and approachable. He's got a wide range of skills and experience, and will turn his hand to most things. James came for two days to do lots of small jobs we didn't have the time or experience to do. He worked around 3 kids and school hours and did a fantastic job. He made recommendations to help us decide and is going to quote for further work. Good rate of pay and brought all his own tools and fixings etc. Definitely will recommend and use again.
James did some carpentry inside and out. The standard of work is excellent. While here he also repaired some masonry, we really can't fault his work. Very friendly, professional and hope to hire him again in the future.
James built our gazebo perfectly, and we love it. He is a very clean and tidy worker and he completed the work to a very high standard. There were a few blips due to roof being delivered damaged, but this was not James' doing. We are so satisfied he is coming back to complete more work for us!

James came and put in a new set of garden rails for me, he did an excellent job and the ground was very difficult to get through but he managed. I will certainly use him again he was very fair on price and worked extremely hard.
James replaced 25 metres of rotting garden fence with a new installation with concrete posts and gravel boards. The job involved a lot of muscle, some awkward geometry, ordering materials and the co-ordination of deliveries. We were particularly pleased with the way he preserved the plants attached to the original fence; his good relationship with our neighbours; and the way he tided up at the end. It looks great.
We had a number of quite challenging jobs which I never imagined I would find somebody to sort out for us. James has done an amazing job for us! James is very hardworking and reliable. We so grateful for all of his help.
James has just completed a number of jobs in my house and the quality of his work is the highest standard achievable. If I was to choose one word to describe him it's perfectionist. No job was too little or big. He was punctual arriving every day and kept the areas he was working in very tidy. He kept me appraised of costs which I appreciated. I have no hesitation in recommending James to anyone and have booked him in again for other jobs on my never ending to-do list.
