This small business has been excellent. We needed a local gardener for an elderly relative and they have been outstanding. They have stuck to their word about how often they come, they contact us, we don't have to chase them. I'd recommend this business.
John and his team have just completed a patio on our Victorian terrace garden and we are delighted with the finished result! From providing a written quote to completing the job, the communication was spot on and the workmanship outstanding. My parents are both terminally ill, John and team recently significantly upgraded their back garden with new porcelain paving and fencing. The result is outstanding, John did a terrific, quick and well priced job. Nothing was too much trouble and he was sensitive to my parents condition, keeping in touch with me too. Would not hesitate to recommend.
John came and built us a huge sandpit, nothing was too much trouble and he kept us informed all the way through. He is also very reasonable with his costs. I would highly recommended and would not hesitate to use again.
John Stuart and his team at JS Landscapes have undertaken work at our home on three occasions since April 2024. Initially, to replace our front gate and later to replace the fencing which screens-off our compost and cold frame area. More recently they cut down a 33ft conifer tree, disposed all the waste and treated the residual stump with an appropriate poison to kill off the roots, etc. Importantly, they used a mobile scaffold in order to undertake the work was carried out safely. There is nothing they can't undertake. Their work is of a high standard, and we have always found them friendly and professional. They provide a free quotation with a detailed description of the work to be undertaken, which is at reasonable prices. We have no hesitation in recommending them to whomever requires their type of services.

Words cannot do justice to the exemplary transformation of the outside of my house by John and his team. The standard of the work is absolutely flawless. John listened and understood from the get go what my needs were. I have cancer and John and his lovely team respected the bad days when I couldn't come out. I am also deaf and John texted with me so it made the whole process so easy for me. John is a very thoughtful, kind person who is amazing at his craft. The guys that work for him are also lovely, and it has been an absolute pleasure having them all. My neighbours are astounded when they come and see the work - it really has added the wow factor and I shall enjoy it hopefully for years to come. Thank you SO much!

*Customer Feedback* In June John came out to quote for a job. We didn't hear back from him for 3 weeks. I emailed him again. Still no response. It was only after I contacted Trusted Trader 10 days later that John replied. We exchanged a few emails, John seemed keen to do the work so I accepted his quote on 24th July. After 8 weeks of no communication from John I emailed him for a progress update. He replied that due to a change in personal circumstance he could no longer do the work. This whole saga has taken three months and now I have to start again. I feel very let down by John. He had plenty of opportunities to get in touch (a) with a price, (b) with progress updates, (c) to withdraw and he did none of these things . I was always the one doing the chasing. I am unaware of his personal circumstances, however this is no excuse for keeping your customers uninformed re their order. He is not someone who I could recommend. *Traders Reply* I admit my communication could have been better with this customer. Due to a change in working circumstances, I have had to let a number of customers down this late summer/early Autumn as I just haven't been able to get to work agreed. The majority of people have been understanding. In this instance, no money changed hands and no work was undertaken so feel it extremely unfair to receive a negative review
John and Dean demolished and rebuilt a wall for us. All work was completed at the time agreed and to a high standard, and left clean and tidy afterwards. Communication during the process was also very good. I would certainly use them again and would recommend to others.
Have now used them four times. Very pleased with the whole process from initial site visit to execution of the planned work.

John has just finished an overhaul of my garden and the end result is simply superb. A fairly big job with limestone pavers laid to the front, sides, and rear of my property, and a new lawn area too. John and I spent quite a bit of time planning to make sure the right decisions were made and John helped with ideas and always gave good advice. His standards are excellent. He doesn't rush, makes sure everything is left neat and clean on a daily basis, and is respectful to the neighbours. The price was good too, very fair for the amount of work done and the quality of the products. I think it's added considerable value to my property, probably more than the cost of the work! I cannot recommend John enough, five stars from me for giving me a beautiful garden I can enjoy for years to come.

Fabulous transformation of my Mum's patio. It looks amazing. John and his team have been utterly professional, courteous and unbelievably tidy throughout this project. Nothing was too much trouble and his attention to detail is to be admired. My Mum is delighted with her new look garden and is singing their praises every time we speak. There were some delays getting started and during the work, family emergency, but once he got going John worked like a trooper through some truly horrible rainy days. All the work was completed as per his quote and the finished article looks very impressive, A re-laid patio - we had forgotten how colourful the stones were!! Highly recommended.

John was always prompt, courteous and friendly every time he attended and did everything and more of what we expected. His materials were first class, and the work was carried out in the agreed time scale. Everything was cleared out and removed when he had finished, leaving us with no tidying up to do ourselves. His quoted price was better than anyone else and I honestly cannot fault anything. I will have no problems in recommending him to family and friends and we will definitely be using him again for future work.

A number of years ago JS Landscapes totally reconfigured our rear garden. The work consisted of a large patio, artificial grass and sleepers to create a wide border. The finished product was amazing. On this occasion some of the grouting between the paving slabs needed replacing and the work was again of the highest standard. One other important thing was that all debris was meticulously cleared away. John, many thanks for your attention to detail.
I have used John three times now for a variety of projects ranging from new fencing, earthworks to level then re-turf the lawn, slab paving, block paving and edging, repointing and even troublesome drain repairs. I have found his prices to be very competitive with a high quality of finished work. During the works everything was left tidy and safe at the end of each day, and he and his guys undertook the works with respect to my property. In advance of the works there was good and proactive communication about start dates to ensure I was kept informed and it was convenient for me. Highly recommended from me.

*Customers Feedback* Wasn't going to leave a review, but then John left a snarky comment on Facebook. Now I feel compelled to. Started a month late. Didn't set a line replacing the boundary fence, just eyeballed it. Ended up on the neighbours' land. Had to re-do it - still not great. Screws sticking out all over and splitting the wood. Still, gave them a chance on the patio. Same story - no line, tried to eyeball it, couldn't lay it straight despite multiple attempts. Noticed some odd stains on the slabs, so asked another landscaper working over the road to come have a look. Told me to try pulling up a stone which I, a 52kg female, could by hand because he didn't think they'd bonded. Weren't on a full contact bed like they were supposed to be, causing reflective staining. Brought everything up with John, who said over email 'there have been errors on our part and I fully accept those and will rectify them.' Never happened. Made a date to come fix things, then didn't show. Eventually offered to come back 3 months later to finish part of the job. No thanks. John says he takes pride in his work. Not that we've seen. *Traders Reply* Firstly, at no point have I posted anything on Facebook relating to this work. The fencing in question did cause some issues that we rectified, and both the customer and their neighbour agreed that the fence line and fencing was correct. In relation to the paving, errors were made that I admitted. All paving was taken up to create a blank canvas for us to get it right. However, a date wasn't agreed to 'fix things' as the customer was away for two weeks. I emailed on 18th July, to say that due to family commitments during the holidays we could come back in September to get the paving correct. This is not 3 months, some six weeks at my calculation. Monies, as agreed, were returned to the customer and the only payment received by myself was for the fencing work, which had been 'passed off' at the time of completion. Ultimately, as far as JS Landscapes are concerned, we didn't leave the customer with any work they were unhappy with and therefore they didn't pay for anything that was incorrect or incomplete. An offer was made to correct the problems, which was not taken up by this customer.
We found John very personable. Kept us in touch all the way through. Even told when he couldn't get which is always good to know. Stuart was also very friendly. His prices are good value. Yes I would certainly recommend JS Landscapes

The work carried out, erecting a length of 5' fencing was carried out professionally. The work area was tidied up after completion of work. John and his colleague were most friendly and answered questions put to them honestly. The fencing erected is of good quality.

John did an excellent job in replacing a cracked fence post for me after the recent winds. The removal of the fence post brought to light a cracked plinth that he then had to go and purchase, though only charging me cost price. He was very easy to deal with, arrived promptly and left everything clean and tidy. I would definitely use John again for any similar jobs and would highly recommend him to others.

We cannot recommend John and his colleague Christian highly enough for their professionalism, expertise and hard work in carrying out the work on our new paved area in our back garden. They worked so hard and left the area completely clean and tidy and the end product exceeded all our expectations.
Excellent work, had the paving area re-laid, a fence replaced and some garden steps added. Arrived early each day to start work and tidied everything up before leaving. Garden looks much better, would use again.
