For over a decade Chimneycure Ltd has been repairing chimneys and installing solid fuel appliances. Darren provided a professional and excellent service, he assessed the problem, water coming through the chimney, causing damage around the fireplace. Darren was efficient and replaced the top of the chimney in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. Storm Claudia arrived a few weeks later and the chimney and fireplace remained dry, thank you Darren.
We needed a bird cowl fitting to our chimney and Darren did an excellent job for us. He arranged for scaffolding to be put up and kept us informed at all times. The whole job was completed on time and at the agreed price.

Darren came to install a Stove for us and discovered a fundamental safety issue with our chimney. It was unusual circumstances and we couldn't continue the work. Safety was his top priority and he quite correctly he wouldn't compromise it even though he lost out on the remainder of the job. If ever trusted meant something it's with Darren- I would have no problem recommending him. He is also a very friendly and nice to work with.

Wonderful! Darren has been a thorough professional at every stage of our work, and he's a very pleasant person too. He responded promptly to our initial request, visited to give a thorough assessment of our needs, accommodated various changes and questions, kept us informed by email, text and phone about solutions and costs, and turned up punctually on the day. He completed the work briskly, cleanly and efficiently, and kept us fully informed stage by stage. He did this work during a period of miserable weather but remained incredibly cheerful and positive throughout. During and after the work, he kept the working area clean, and tidied up perfectly at the end. Doing all this during lockdown, he wore a mask and was always mindful of distances and necessary precautions. For us, he has been a perfect contractor, we would recommend him with absolutely no reservation. He is an expert and a professional - we'd be delighted to have work for us again.
Darren is both a competent and friendly tradesman. Having just moved into the dales from the Oxfordshire area, this is the first property that I've ever owned that incorporates a wood-burner! I cannot recommend Darren from Chimneycure highly enough. Superb customer service, quick to respond and always happy to answer questions no matter how stupid. He advised on a suitable stove, and provided other recommendations on the building works of completing the fireplace. Darren also spotted an area around the chimney that had been contributing to a roof leak that a roofing repair expert had not spotted. It was repaired without fuss or question. Darren was punctual and tidy. I have been let down by so many tradesmen even traders on here this year so it was a pleasure to deal with someone with such professionalism.

When our gas fire was condemned we decided to replace it with an electric fire. Darren from Chimneycure removed the existing gas re and plate, built up the hole with bricks, installed an air vent to allow ventilation into the flue and plastered the area affected. He attended quickly to provide the initial quote and we arranged for him to come a few weeks later to do the job. He came at the agreed time, carried out the work swiftly and to a high standard, cleaned up at the end and took away the old gas fire. He was pleasant and polite, and did everything we expected of him. Highly recommended.
