Barry did a good job fitting a fire door in a awkward location. He answered calls to arrange work promptly and did the work as agreed.
Barry came out promptly after great communication to asses my garage door for repair. His many years of experience and knowledge were quickly apparent and he set to immediately with the repair which he completed in under one hour. Other traders had quoted hundreds of pounds to replace parts which were not required as Barry proved. The door is now as good as new.
Barry was great, we were revamping an old kitchen. Which probably, funds allowing, should have been changed. But Barry worked with what we had and totally transformed the space with new worktops, sink, plinths and a new larder unit. We would definitely recommend. He was reliable, friendly and able to offer good solutions to problems that arose with having an older kitchen to work with.
Barry has just done an amazing carpentry job for me to refurbish a rotting purpose built wooden veranda. Initial assessment indicated need for two new support posts and overhead superstructure at one end. This escalated as he removed the old wood finding more patches of rot. He has re-constructed half the veranda. He solved numerous awkward problem areas. I would not hesitate to highly recommend him. He will be returning to refurbish parts of our kitchen and utility.
Barry came out same day and fixed our problem garage door. initially he thought he would just be able to make it safe and then come back to repair, but he managed to fix it on the day for us. Really nice guy. I'd recommend him and I have already to friends.
*Customer Feedback* Barry has left us with an unusable kitchen after destroying our bespoke new kitchen. The workmanship from someone who is supposed to be a professional is shocking. I will be leaving a review and photos on other websites. We have been left to reorder most of our kitchen and we have got a professional kitchen fitter in now. Thousands wasted and weeks of delay and stress. Truly awful. Be warned, don't employ this tradesman. *Traders Reply* As a professional Joiner and Carpenter with over 40 years of experience, I have installed kitchens for hundreds of satisfied customers, always providing personal and conscientious service. However, I feel compelled to address the recent accusations made by the customer, which I believe defame my character and workmanship. After successfully planning and ordering the kitchen units to the customer's satisfaction, I began the installation. Throughout the installation there were numerous issues raised that were discussed and I provided my professional advice, the decisions made by the customer were often contrary to my advice and had outcomes that they later regretted. Consequently, I had no choice but to leave the job and seek mediation through Trusted Trader, which has been unsuccessful. Despite offering to complete the job to correct joinery standards and the customer declined. Please see my website for examples of my craftsmanship: https://bstubbsjoinery.wordpress.com/
Mr B Stubbs fitted a new garage door to my garage, after I had building work done which changed the size of the opening. He did an excellent job and the door looks great and works very smoothly. I would definitely recommend him.
Barry fitted our kitchen, skirtings, doors and did a fantastic job, you can see he has had 40 years experience! Would recommend to anyone wanting joinery work.
Expecting the need to spend several hundreds of pounds on a new up and over garage door to replace ours which was wobbly and not closing properly I contacted Barry. However after just an hours work of tightening wires, adjusting hinges oiling and whatever else, he had it working perfectly again just like new thus saving a big expense. Thank you Barry. Job well done.
Barry's latest job for me was replacing poorly fitted UPVC fascias and soffits, which the developer had just nailed to the original rotting 1930s wooden ones.
Barry did an excellent job of installing new fitted bathroom furniture. Not a straightforward installation as both walls and floor are not level, but all 6 units neatly levelled and aligned with great care, plinths and infills scribed and cut to perfection.
Barry Stubbs has been and done several jobs for us over the past months. He is so dependable and such a hard worker. He specialises in woodwork and joinery. He has installed a loft ladder for us and today he has altered the lock on a toilet door. Whenever I need a woodwork job doing, or come to that any job doing, I contact Barry Stubbs. He is a real treasure.
