I am your local Handyman, I do the jobs that other tradesmen find too small. I offer free quotations and I am fully insured. I have been working with my hands for over 40 years and have a wealth of experience in many areas of maintenance and construction. I pride myself on turning up on time and providing a neat, courteous, professional service. I do not employ others, as I do all the work myself, ensuring that my high standards are maintained. John was excellent from start to end. Responded quickly and came and sorted my shed roof out. He was very meticulous and tidy throughout sorting out the shed roof, replacing wood and explaining everything throughout. Will definitely use John again and thoroughly recommend.

We needed our gutters clearing. John, was a very personable, lovely chap. He gave a fair price for what was required. He arrived when he said he would. Even though the job was bigger than expected, he explained exactly what he was doing and took pictures to show why it was a bigger job. He was tidy and cleared up all the mess. The door between my lounge and kitchen was jammed shut because the mechanism inside the handle had broken. It's often difficult to get people to come out for small jobs but I left a message for John and he rang back soon after and arranged to come out later this afternoon. He arrived when he said he would and managed to get the door open without damaging it, he replaced the mechanism and put the original handles back on. He was friendly, polite and efficient and respected my home. I was pleasantly surprised at what he charged, I expected it to be much more! Overall a great job, I'll certainly keep his number for the future and won't hesitate to recommend him to friends.
First class service. John was prompt on arrival, and did a thoroughly professional job of clearing our gutters and replacing several of the support brackets. This is the first time that we have requested John's services, but he would be the first person we would call upon should we need similar, or other services again.

I thought the job would be too small for a tradesman and that I would struggle to get someone to do it. However, the day after asking John if he could fix my door, the job was done. John came the same day I phoned. He fixed my gate that needed adjusting. My gutters had come adrift in two places, where they joined the down pipes, and a piece was missing. John went to fetch the piece of guttering needed and then mended both gutters. While he was there, he cleared leaves out. He tidied up after himself and charged a very reasonable rate for his work. This handyman is brilliant trustworthy and a honest person, charges a fair price not a rip of merchant like lots when they see an OAP, lot think charge double etc. This man is a very honest worker not many like him about.
He made me a set of gates and what he charged was a lot less than other quotes, honest workmen are hard to find these days. His workmanship is top grade.
I rang John re some repairs I needed doing outdoors. He came the same day, looked at what needed doing and gave me a price which I accepted. We asked John to replace an old fan vent and do some re-mortaring as well as a few other oddments. He gave us a fair price and a date to do the work which suited us perfectly. This is the second time we have used John's services. On both occasions we have found him to be very professional, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We would not hesitate to recommend John to anyone who requires work done in or around property. On his visit today he tackled two quite different jobs. One regarding a water leak under a double glazed door, the other some repairs to a wardrobe unit. Both jobs assessed and carried out swiftly with great skill. After our original phone call John contacted us to confirm the time and date of his visit to carry out the work and turned up on time. Absolutely first class in every way.

I met John and his wife when dropping our vehicles off in the garage for servicing, and on hearing he was a Handyman I asked for his business card. 5 months later I was having a problem cutting angles for a wall handrail known as a 'Pigs Ear' by design. I rang John for advice and he popped round the following morning, had a crash course. I had tried every way except the right one! He identified the problem and I was up and running in no time. A really nice guy, highly recommended.

We needed to replace our wooden front gate, after reading the reviews on John's site we rang him and he actually came out later that day, he advised us the best design to have and that he could make and fit it in approximately 3 weeks. He has just completed fitting the gate and has done so in 2 weeks for the agreed price, he arrived at the time he said he would, he is polite and friendly and we would definitely recommend him.

Asked John about my chimney while passing him on pavement, he promptly gave me a quote the same day for removing the weeds on my bungalow chimney stack, came and did the job the following day at a good price and wearing his mask, recommending it to be rebuilt in the summer, unfortunately John is unable to do that job. John Murray re-felted the roof and fitted guttering and a water tub. He was excellent, putting in the extra time, materials and effort to correct the sag in the roof and then correcting flaws caused by a botched job by someone else. He checks what he has done. I found John to be one of those rare people who under promise and over deliver. I asked him to remove the paving from my back garden, excavate the hard core beneath it and remove it from site. He did all this by the appointed time and at less than the original price quoted. He was also very helpful with other suggestions for the garden.

His help has been utterly invaluable in assembling wardrobes and the shed; erecting fences and trellis; fitting a drainage access chamber; soldering a metal gate to fit properly; hanging art work; mending cabinet drawers and more!
