JGS is a small family run business, working predominantly local offering a range construction and ground working services. We do not believe in the "Hard Sell". When you contact the office with an enquiry we will arrange a FREE on-site survey and follow up with a detailed written quotation. Excavation, landscaping and drop kerb work undertaken. 30 years experience. Testimonials of previous customers available. Also photos of all stages of work undertaken in large portfolio. Our staff are trained to Edexcel Level 4 NVQ in Construction Site Management (Building and Civil Engineering), and Edexcel Level 2 NVQ in Construction Operations - General Construction. We are on the preferred contractors list for Derbyshire County Council.

I didn't find this company on Trusted Trader - I chose them because they came so highly recommended by 3 separate neighbours. I dealt with Joe, who was very friendly, polite and professional from the booking in of the job to completion. I cannot recommend him and his hardworking team highly enough. They went above and beyond and treated me as a pensioner with kindness and respect. I'm really pleased with my new driveway and the additional work on my garden. Joe who runs the JGS business was very accommodating in planning work for us and our neighbours in order to tarmac our service road. Detailed quotes for the work were clear and the whole job was professionally done by a very good-natured and hardworking team, and completed well within the time-scale. Having seen the very high standard of work carried out at many locations in the Belper area, coupled with their listing as a Trusted Trader, I had no hesitation in asking them to re-lay my drive. From helping with the design to providing the finishing touches, Joe and his team produced a result beyond my expectations. Great communications, respectful towards neighbours, use of high quality materials and excellent teamwork, are just some of the plus points. They turned up when they said they would, and they tidied up before leaving each day. Nothing negative to report, and I wouldn't hesitate in making them my first choice for any further work. In fact I've already done so. They provided new fencing in my garden, the quality of which, is far superior to the previous one fitted a few years ago by a different company. Finally, thanks also to John and his lovely dog, who came round to check everything was going ok, and was suitably impressed. I am happy to say that Joe, Ryan, Sam and the team continue to maintain the high standards you set when you founded JGS.
JGS construction have just finished our drive. The finished job is perfect they have gone above and beyond what was expected. All the lads doing the job have been so polite and helpful they left everything as clean and tidy as possible. The pride they take in their work is a credit to themselves and John. John and his team have done us a new driveway, dropped kerb and built a re-enforced retaining wall. The work was excellent and they all work so hard for the customers satisfaction with an eye for the detail. I would fully recommend and will be returning f or additional work in the future.

JGS have now done two driveways for me and I cannot overstate how happy I am with their work. John was very careful to explain fully exactly what work would be needed and if as happened on one of the driveways the planned solution had to be changed he contacted me to ensure I was happy with the change before work continued. The JGS team were Excellent, polite and extremely helpful. They turned an old and worn out driveway into a very smart space. John and his team did an excellent job of transforming a patch of ground that was completely overgrown at the side of our house into a gravelled driveway, along with removing a brick wall and blending the existing block paving with a new section where the wall had been removed. The whole team were polite, tidy and efficient and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend JGS or use them again in the future.
We asked JGS to quote for the replacement of our slabbed pathways, patio and steps because we saw for ourselves the professional standard of their work from other projects they've completed in the area. This was a challenging job for the team because we wanted a level patio and pathways in an area which has a bit of a slope! Working with our ideas and theirs, JGS created the most stunning patio on two levels in Indian sandstone with natural Derbyshire stone risers leading to paths around the side of the house and into the back garden more slopes to level out. This company has clearly invested in the equipment and staff training they need to undertake the work to a very high standard. The team are smart, hardworking, knowledgeable, polite and enthusiastic. It's been a pleasure to have them here this week and we can recommend them 100%.

Watched other jobs they were doing prior to our work and like ours all were done to a high standard with the right depth of ground work and attention to levels etc. John suggested things that would improve the look and we now get a lot of very positive comments from neighbours. very pleased with their work.

Excellent Communication throughout the project. The team are very pleasant and cooperative. And above all the work was carried out to a very high standard. Very clean and tidy site was maintained from start to finish and all potential hazards were clearly marked. The project was completed in very quick time. JGS have just replaced tarmac to a shared drive way with a brick front edge and also removed a section of hedging and tree and replaced with gravel. It looks great and all 3 houses are extremely pleased with the finished work. Friendly and courteous throughout. Would thoroughly recommend using JGS.
I choose JGS, because I saw examples of their work in the area…I could see they were brilliant at their job and I was right. They transformed the front of my house, but not only that the great team of men, who John Grace leads are everything a house holder wants, Professional, friendly, polite and very hard working. Mr John Grace tarmaced our drive, I told him we needed to park two cars side by side. He said where I suggested needed to be further down the garden. Then he came up with an idea of using paving slabs for edgings which I was not sure of. Anyway his price was within my budget so I went ahead. Now some months on I cannot believe what a good job he made and the amount of parking space we have! Super job Mr Grace.

John and his team did a fantastic job, tarmacking and block paving our drive in very challenging circumstances. The lads were polite, well mannered and worked really hard all week to complete the job by the end of the week. They are a credit to the company and would highly recommend them anytime. We are super pleased with it and it will enable to us comfortably park both cars on the drive.

Recently employed JGS to convert the front of our property to a driveway. My husband had previously noticed driveways that they had tarmaced in the area and was impressed with the standard of work he saw and the fact that the works long after completion hadn't deteriorated in condition ie grass and weeds growing through. So I went along with his recommendation. We have not been disappointed. They arrived when scheduled to and worked as a team to get the job done in a timely manner. All the men were polite and worked so hard, one of the neighbours commented on this and even came over and shook their hands my husband told me. Pleased with our new driveway, excellent work, we would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. Thank you JGS.
JGS removed our old single width tarmac driveway and replaced it with a fantastic triple block driveway. They mixed two types of blocks to get the colour mix that we desired. Everything was done to a high standard and cleaned up afterwards. JGS use their own equipment and do not have to hire any equipment such grab lorries which means they do not sub-contract out. I couldn't be happier with the service or quality.
