*Customer Feedback* Charles Holden and his colleagues fitted 4 radiator valves and a room thermostat to our central heating system. It all works very well, we do not have any problem with the quality of their workmanship. However the price for the work was phenomenal! Even with a Derbyshire Gold Card discount, he still charged £330 for the job; cannot see how this cost would be affordable to people on low income. Labour charges seem excessive. *Traders Reply* I am pleased you are happy with the work carried out. With regard to the cost, as the invoice states the material costs were £156.00 including VAT, which left a labour cost of £177.60 Including VAT. This does reflect the fact we had to make 3 visits to carry out the work. 2 of the valves needed alteration to the pipework to facilitate fitting the valves, and we were required to move some furniture to gain access and space around the valves to work. We also had to use an external electrician to wire up the room thermostat, which resulted in an external Charge of £40.00. We always offer competitive prices on work we carry out, but in these challenging times, costs are continuing to rise on all aspects of our business. I Have just checked on the website of a well known large heating company and they charge £125 for the first 30 mins!!
