I found Paul helpful and clear on the work required and even though the job turned out to be much larger than either of us expected, through no fault of Paul, I was very happy with the outcome. What started as a wall removal and RSJ installation, ended up needing an additional wall building and a floor lower which was completed with new insulated timber joists. Paul also managed the process of building regulations, and even with all the additional challenges of an older house saw all the additional work through with the minimum of inconvenience for us. I would use Paul again and happily recommend him based on my experience.

Just getting builders to turn up and quote can be a nightmare, let alone actually turning up to start. We put our livelihoods, homes and trust in people and skills we know nothing about. We found Paul on Trusted Trader and wanted to use a local tradesperson. You hear so many horror stories and experienced some, so it's a nice change to find one of the friendly good ones. From start to finish Paul's attitude was very professional and a credit to his trade. He did everything he said he was going to do, presented us with professional quotations, great communication and planning along the way, turned up when he said he would, provided details on what to expect and how work would be carried out, was clean and tidy and takes pride in his work and your home. We would have no hesitation in recommending Paul to friends and family and would definitely utilise his services again.
Paul has been a Godsend. We were really struggling to find a builder at the start of the year after we had taken on a full house renovation project. Paul came along and completed all jobs quickly, efficiently and at a fair price. These jobs included some big structural work including taking a supporting wall out and installing two RSJs into the house with the approval of building regs. Paul also helped us rebuild a crumbling dormer which required all the plasterboard being removed and the walls, and roof being insulated completely. He also installed a new flat roof on the dormer, windows, and reinforced the floor of the dormer. Paul is an honest, genuine trader who does what he says he will do quickly, with minimal mess. I am so grateful to Paul for helping us turn a wreck into a home. Could not recommend more highly.
Paul did an excellent job moving a wall back and making good in our front bedroom. Can't fault his work at all and he kept everything clean and tidy at all times. A very friendly, informative and knowledgeable chap we wouldn't hesitate to use again.

Paul has done an excellent job removing our old stone fireplace and building a new one from scratch to house a multi fuel stove. Very professional and every effort is made to keep dust and disturbance to a minimum. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Paul for any work to friends and family.

Paul has practically lived with us over the last year and has done a whole raft of work including installation of a new bathroom, rebuild and finishing of our kitchen, building our porch, installation of steelwork to make our lounge open plan and various flooring and plastering jobs. Paul is considerate, tidy and methodical and is always offering ideas to improve the outcome of the work being done. I would recommend him and would definitely consider asking him to do more work in the future.

Constructing the lower terrace was not the first job Paul has done for me and it will not be the last. Professional, proactive, hard working and friendly.
The 1st job Paul did for us was to open up a fire place for a log burner. The fire place he built was 1st class. We decided to refurbish the kitchen. Paul did an excellent job installing patio doors, and plastering all the walls. The work was completed on time. Excellent service. We would highly recommend Paul.
Paul Archers Construction has done several jobs for me - indoors and outdoors, large and small. Earlier this year he has designed and constructed an ensuite to a first floor bedroom, which I am very pleased with. This was quite a large job, but recently he has made good a concrete floor and re-plastered a wall following removal of unwanted WC and wash hand basin in a cloakroom - a much smaller job. But in all cases his work has always been excellent, he is always punctual in arriving, and he leaves everywhere clean and tidy. In addition, he is very approachable, explains exactly what he has to do, and will offer advice willingly on all aspects of the work, and he also takes seriously any requests and concerns I might have, so that the project is made as stress free as possible. All in all, I have no hesitation at all in recommending Archers Construction.
When looking for a builder Paul was the only one who pointed out that I could not have the washing machine in the place I proposed. His estimate was clearly detailed and I knew exactly what I was paying for. I think the estimate from the other builders would have grown somewhat as they had not considered all elements of the build. From the very beginning, laying foundations, Paul listened to my final requirements for the use of the extension. Following this he adjusted the build accordingly and made thoughtful and useful suggestions as the build progressed. He turns up at the times he says, lets you know step by step what is happening, including deliveries, and why. Paul is polite and works hard doing his best to keep within time frames, given he has no control over the weather! Everyone, family and other traders are impressed by the final build. One man, one job, and an impressive result. Thank you.
