* Customer Feedback * 2 Garden Walls with Pillars - AVOID. Initial impressions were good, previous jobs/experience.. 2-3 week job turned into 9 weeks - ruined the summer. Pete regularly didn?t turn up, working on other jobs. Then let?s go for quality of work?.
1) I had to remind about reinforcing in the pillars.
2) He laid all the blue top courses wonky on the top of one wall. He re-laid with an excuse, he was rushing but got angry about it.
3) The mortar started to crack on the tile creases.
4) He let his occasional labourer brick acid one wall when when he had never done it before leaving it all rusty looking.
5) He then went away on holiday leaving complete mess. I spent 2 days I tidying up using brick cleaner to clean all bricks particularly all blues which looked awful and mortar on paving slabs of the patio and the drive.
6) The final look is average, courses look a bit uneven or corners just have mortar slormed down them. The house builder did a better job.
My final straw has come when, 6 months later, a piece of tile has dropped off from one pillar. All the corners have joins, which seems wrong (unlike others on the estate) and it looks like the mortar has being holding this broken piece in place and the frost has slowly dislodged it. It?s not where it can be caught in a thoroughfare. So it?s either an original sin or poor quality tiles. So as you can I imagine Pete doesn?t want to know - cracked mortar or now these tiles.

I did this job last July. It was very hot at the time so you must wet the bricks down so obviously some water covers them, so you have to clean them, which I did. Very difficult man to work for. At the time my father-in-law house was bound so I did a lot running around looking after him as it is only me that drives. I didn?t have any other work on only his. What he is saying about the steel is true it went in when it had to. He says the bricks are all over the place, but he paid up when I had finished and was very happy.
This customer was Just not happy because he caused the tile to crack when drilling his fence post to the wall some months later which was nothing to do with me. He wanted me to take the top off and do it all again which I was not happy about as I did the work 9 months ago.
We can't recommend Pete highly enough. His work for us is always to the highest standard. Always friendly and definitely knows his stuff. We're already making arrangements with Pete for our next job.

Very impressed with Pete and his team, got the job done on time with a high finish and good attention to detail. They left the site clean and tidy throughout and were very friendly with good communication. I would recommend Pete for any size job and will call back for any further works.
Very impressive service. Pete and his team were excellent from
beginning to end. Everything happened when Pete said it would and the guys who carried out the work were superb. Nothing was too much
trouble and they finished the job quickly and efficiently. I would thoroughly recommend Pete and his team. I'll certainly be going
straight to them when I next need building work done!
Pete and Paul put a new roof on our house, which involved removing the roof, replacing the attic floor, adding and cladding four large dormers with pitched roofs, renovating the chimneys, adding a new
flue liner, widening and replacing the attic stairs, plumbing an en- suite, insulating, boarding and finishing the walls and ceilings and first fix joinery. I'm a chartered surveyor and so appreciate the complexity of the work, which included placing a large section steel ridge beam, but Pete and Paul took it in their stride despite working in the extreme 2022 summer temperature under a temporary tin roof! The new roof and attic room look fantastic. Pete is always pleasant to deal with and has a wealth of experience and skills. Nothing was too much trouble. I can thoroughly recommend Pete and will be using his services again in the future.
Pete's team have all the skills to overcome any unexpected issues that crop up along the way. Wall removed, new electrics, plumbing, floor tiles and kitchen supplied and fitted. Great job done, very pleased with our new kitchen.
A very good job carried out by the team. Diligent and tidy workers. Would certainly use again.
Roger replaced old guttering that was causing damp, he removed old plaster and re-plastered the bathroom wall. He turned up when he said he would, was polite and friendly. I am very pleased with the work
done.
Pete and Paul were very hard working and polite. Left the job tidy each night. Hope to use them again.
Highly satisfied with service received from initial contact to work completion. Very helpful, polite, kept us informed throughout, hardworking and tidy. Pleased with results. Many thanks.
Peter is currently completing a new roof and wall for us, and has in recent months replaced a bay window, repaired a smaller roof and plastered a WC. He is professional, cheerful, good at solving
problems and works to a high standard; we are delighted to have found
him.
Rapid response to a serious roofing emergency. Called for help in evening. Pete was there first thing in morning. Resolved the problem. Efficient, responsible friendly and professional. Recommended.
Prompt diagnosis of problem and execution of repair. helpful.
I was recommended by a friend, very pleased with Pete's work, 100 percent satisfied.
Pete Bartram renovated a 300 year old cottage for us; top to bottom, inside and out. Kitchen, bathrooms, fireplaces, patio, fencing, driveway: he did the lot! Great finish, to an exceptional standard. He's highly skilled. And very tidy. We wouldn't hesitate to
recommend.
Happy with the roof repair Pete did for us. He took photos to show us the problems on the roof that needed putting right and fixed what needed fixing. Worked through some pretty cold weather conditions. Was friendly but professional and left everywhere clean and tidy.
Great service. Polite person, he fitted my kitchen in the time he said. Definitely recommend.
