* Customer Feedback* Avoid – failed guaranteed repair, months of stress and a court claim dismissed. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. A leak reported in January 2025 on a roof that was supposed to be under guarantee turned into months of failed repairs, delay, stress and excuse after excuse. Scaffolding went up, repairs were attempted, the leak still wasn't fixed, and instead of putting it right we ended up in a dispute over charges, scaffolding costs and invoices. What should have been a straightforward guaranteed repair became a complete mess and eventually a court claim against us. By the time it reached court, the account being put forward was very different from the original messages and paperwork. In the end, the judge dismissed the claim very quickly. So after months of inconvenience, a failed repair and the stress of having to defend ourselves in court, we were left with the problem still unresolved and a very clear view of how this company deals with customers when its work is challenged. I would never use this company again and would strongly advise others to stay well clear. *Traders Reply* This job was done over 10 years ago they reported that the mortar had fallen out of the ridge tiles in April of 2025 not January and as I couldn't get on the roof with a ladder and crawler scaffold was needed. A price was agreed and when the job was completed they refused to pay for the scaffold as I was going to do the pointing for nothing. I took them to court over non payment which the judge said I was in my right as I couldn't get on the roof with ladder and crawler as a big dormer on back of house, I have all the pics to prove this. I find her comments slanderous as all my comments on there are 5* the guarantee for the work didn't include the pointing as on a 100 year old property and slates it's impossible to guarantee due to movement and stuff. I think because they didn't win the court judgement they are trying to put my company down which I don't agree with as all of my customers are returning customers and people passing my details on through friends. The Derbyshire trusted trader is a great scheme to be on which I get most of my work off and I certainly don't want to be losing work over a nightmare customer.

Matt sorted out a leak from our central heating flu on the roof at very short notice. He is very thorough and professional in his work. He is helpful and transparent in what he's going to do and at a fair price. I recommend him to my friends.

I was very impressed with Matt as soon as he arrived to give me a quote. I liked his demeanour, open honest and not pushy at all. He gave me a written quote before starting and turned up on the planned day and got the job done on time. He did a roof gully for me and he advised me what he was doing and why as he went along. I was so impressed that I asked him for a quote to replace my roof and I had no hesitation in asking him to do the job. Finished roof looks stunning. Hard worker and a friendly character. Would have no hesitation in employing him again, indeed I am in discussion with him about doing another task for me.

Matt was so professional. He listened to what we needed and came up with fantastic solutions to the work we needed. The quality of his work is excellent, he turns up when he says he will and he gave us a huge amount of help with the building inspectors. Really excellent work.

Matthew Payne is a five star tradesman. He carried out extensive repairs and replacements to our leaking roof including a new roof covering, a new valley gutter, new Velux window and he installed new vents to eradicate a massive condensation problem in our roof, discovered only when the weather turned cold. He was thorough, he researched solutions with other tradesmen and was determined to get the job done properly. We have gone through three months of winter and all leaks have been cured. He kept us fully informed of when he was coming to the house and he is very fair with his prices. We cannot thank Matthew enough for the work he has done and have no hesitation in recommending him.
