Wow! Trev and his team really came up trumps with a rapid and effective solution to an urgent problem we had with a log burner. Excellent service, rapid no-nonsense action - just what we needed. I cannot recommend them enough.

*Customer Feedback* The sweep attended to sweep the chimney on 25 November 2024. On arrival he was critical of the installation of the multifuel stove, said the installation was a 'bodged job' and recommend the stove be refitted. The estimate for refitting was 518 pounds. The stove had been refurbished earlier this year and a new chimney liner had been fitted. This work had HETAS certification number 1718854 issued on 16/4/24. The owner of Irony Fireside was unconcerned about the safety issue, focusing solely on receiving payment for work done, his assertive/aggressive approach I felt amounted to harassment the multiple phone calls even at 7pm on a Saturday evening were unwelcome as the bill had been settled within 4 days of receipt. The previous installer stands by his work. I am now in contact with HETAS to try to resolve this. *Traders Reply* As HETAS reg chimney sweeps, we have a duty of care/responsibility to report any issues. This is exactly what we did. The customer asked us for an estimate to carry out remedial works, which we provided. Regarding the lack of concern over the issues, it was our sweep that raised them and provided a solution. The risk was assessed as 'low'. The responsibility really lies with the customer to action our findings in her Air BnB. The assertive/aggressive approach is certainly not how anyone at Irony Fireside conducts themselves. In summary, we provided the usual service and the customer decided to take offence for reasons best known to herself

As others have said also, we found the whole experience of dealing with Trev and his team extremely pleasing. They are delightful people to work with and have kept us informed about the installation process throughout. They are tidy and carried out the whole job in a very professional manner. No concerns about recommending them at all to others.

Trev and his team are lovely people who do a great job. Dealing with Irony Fireside was a pleasure from start to finish, and a real contrast to a number of other local firms I'd contacted. From the start of discussing ideas with Trev to finishing the installation of a new stove and hand carved fireplace from local stone plus chimney repairs, their communication was excellent and the job done quickly.
