About DHR Locksmiths
DHR locksmiths may be new to Trusted Traders, but I have over 20 years of experience of manufacturing, fitting and servicing PVC and aluminium commercial doors, so I understand doors and windows inside out. I am also an experienced, qualified and fully insured locksmith. I work regularly work for a local council and many private landlords, home owners and business owners. I also regularly work for the Fire service, Ambulance service and Police force, gaining entry in emergency situations. I specialise in PVC and commercial aluminium doors and windows, but I am fully competent with with all types of locks including wooden door locks. I will always try to attend emergencies within 40 minutes and to give the best value for money possible, with a friendly professional service.

Richard has been fantastic from start to finish, his work is brilliant and he even noticed and fixed another issue with the door that we hadn't noticed ourselves. I would certainly recommend him to anybody who requires a locksmith.
Richard responded to my initial enquiry really quickly and visited us to assess the job and provide a quote, which was reasonable. When Richard came to complete the work he kept me fully informed and was friendly. He was also very accommodating in fixing a new handle to an external door which we had purchased independently but not got around to replacing - he even swapped it free of charge for one from his own stock as we had purchased the wrong one and could no longer return it. Would definitely use Richard again and would recommend.
Brilliant service from Richard. Had a lock that had failed … wouldn't unlock. Replaced quickly whilst being a lock that he did not have in stock. All resolved. Really efficiently done and really friendly. I called Richard from Trusted Trader on Derbyshire.gov website and was all good.
My back door lock was fixed quickly and now works nicely, pleasant man and the dog liked him as well, thank you.
Richard attended within the hour and quickly identified the fault and explained how he would resolve it. He had the required parts in his van and explained the shortcomings of my old lock and how the replacement was a security upgrade. He was polite and professional throughout and gave you confidence in the service he provided. Price was fine and I would strongly recommend him.
After an emergency locksmith provided by our insurance did a temporary fix on our broken front door, DHR locksmiths completed the job with a permanent repair. Fitted us in very quickly but had to order a part for our older door. Work completed efficiently and at a reasonable price.
Richard did a good job replacing three mortise locks. He was friendly and courteous. He left everything clean and tidy.
Richard came at short notice to replace a faulty front door lock. At the same time he examined a sticky lock in a garage door, dismantled it and thoroughly cleaned it. I found him to be extremely professional and informative. I believe he charged a fair rate and would certainly use him again and would have no hesitation in recommending him to others.

Richard visited my 89 year old mother today and provided a superb service, he rang me when she didn't answer the door, fitted a new barrel thumb lock, oiled the hinges and checked that mum could operate it. He repaired the bathroom handle and hovered up. Mum felt very comfortable with him and his telephone manner is very professional. Our front door locking mechanism had jammed. Richard did a very quick and efficient job in opening it, replacing the mechanism and fitting a new, more secure key. He had all the necessary spares with him at a very reasonable price. I know where to go next time.
Started with one lock renewed and ended up having five locks renewed, great job and did not try to rip me off, will have back if needed to repair my house locks. If you just want a good job doing, call DHR cannot say this about some tradesmen 100%.
Mr Turner was very helpful, even though he was on holiday, correctly identifying and sourcing a replacement for our unusual lock. When he came out to fit the lock, he proved to be very pleasant and apparently trustworthy - strengths which are to be welcomed in a locksmith! I would recommend him to anybody.

I had used this locksmith before to replace 3 locks on moving into my bungalow approx. a year ago. This time I had broke the mechanism on a conservatory door lock the teeth on the gear cogs had broken off and jammed the handle. I had kept the business card from the gentleman's previous visit. What a relief, I phoned and he came out the same day. My property was insecure, a very polite and professional man, that advised and changed the door lock, also advising, to place two bolts to the opposite half of the door, for added security. All done politely, professionally and at a decent price, with no mess to clean up, equals really well done.
Brilliant response from Richard so that we could lock our front door tonight. He literally went the extra mile for us coming at 7.30 after a long day and an hour to get from one side of the county to the other. Reassuringly thorough about Covid hygiene and distancing, but friendly with it. Definitely recommend and will use again.

I should have submitted this review several weeks ago, which proves I'm much slower than Richard the locksmith. We had a problem with the door which couldn't be opened at all, exit was only possible via a window. Called for help and he arrived promptly, even taking the trouble to ring saying he was delayed in road works. I knew that feeling. Watching him having to prise open the door was not a pleasant sight. Before long, a new lock was fitted and everything was back to normal and at a reasonable price. As luck would have it, a couple of weeks later, the new lock broke and the key was jammed on the outside. Richard came as soon as possible, replaced the lock and showed the failure of the old one. He didn't ask for any additional payment for the second visit and his workmanship I can only rate as 100%. He is a very pleasant guy so I can thoroughly recommend him.
I called DHR locksmiths at 8.10am after my key broke off in the front door, leaving me unable to go out. The job was completed within 45 minutes of me calling! Super efficient, friendly and a good price. I would definitely use DHR locksmiths again.

Visited promptly and fitted new barrel lock to an old door. We had trouble operating it initially, but he came back within an hour of calling and made a slight adjustment, which has made it far easier to operate. No charge for second visit. Friendly and polite, and turned up when he said he would - what more could you want?

Just talking to him on the phone gave me the confidence to arrange to get Richard to look at our lock problem. We arranged a time and date that he would arrive and he kept to it. He completed the job and then cleaned up afterwards. Finally he made an adjustment to another door even though I only asked for his advice on how to make the adjustment myself.
